If you click on the Keyboard tab in Setup, you will see this screen:

You can use one or two zones of your piano keyboard to send Key, Root and Scale information to the Pitch Palette. Notes played in either of these two zones will only send Tuning Channel information and will not be sent on to your synth.
You might want to use the lowest octave of your keyboard for manually Rooting and a few of the highest notes for selecting a range of scales. You can group your scales by using the Order command in The Scale Editor
Type
Choose one of the following from the drop down list by clicking on the down arrow:
Note
Select the starting note of the zone. For a Key or Root Zone, the octave beginning with this note will be reserved for Key or Root changes.
For a Scale Zone, all notes above this note will be reserved for scale changes. The first note of this zone will be Scale # 0, the equal tempered scale. The next note will be Scale #1, and so on.
The Pitch Palette always treats Scale # 0 as the Tempered Toggle, which means it will toggle back and forth between the equal tempered scale and the scale that had been selected before Scale #0. You will be able to arrange the order of all the other scales in the Scale Editor.
Indicate the octave number of the starting note of the zone. Middle C is the beginning of Octave # 5.
If you are unsure of the Starting Note of the Zone you want to select, you
can click your mouse in the box on the left side of this option and play the
starting note on your keyboard. The Pitch Palette will automatically select
the Note and Octave number for you.
